About
My name is Lexi Gong
My practice is an act of translation—transmuting the written word into cross-sensory journeys. I begin with narratives that seek to illuminate the nuances of human experience, which then evolve through digital art and cinematic music into immersive encounters at the crossroads of dream and reality.

My creative practice
My artistic methodology is forged from a deliberate, interdisciplinary evolution. My background as an engineer provides a lens of precision for sound design and sonic exploration, while my humanistic and design training allows me to probe the subtle dynamics of perception. This synthesis of the analytical and the empathic is the core of my practice, enabling me to construct works that are both technically rigorous and emotionally resonant.
My work explores the techno-human entanglements of our time, viewing art and music as therapeutic instruments for processing personal and societal pain. I consider myself an 'artivist', engaging in a form of social dialogue through speculative narratives. By designing soundscapes intended to influence brainwave states, I investigate the visualisation of human perception, aiming to create spaces for introspection and catharsis.
My work, such as the ongoing project Carriage 1111 - The Syndrome of Sunny Solstiz, began as a book and evolved as digital work, with an emerging focus on cinematic sound design to explore the complex interplay between waking and dreaming, between the logical and the lyrical. It's an evolving work designed to invite into a dialogue about perception, memory, and our place in an increasingly digital world, and that is now transforming into a live experimental theatre piece.
